72 Would You Rather Questions (Funny, Hard & Kid-Friendly)

📖 6 min read · by the Quibzo team

"Would you rather…?" is the perfect zero-setup game: one question, two impossible options, and instantly everyone in the car or around the table has an opinion. Here are 72 original questions sorted by mood — start easy, end with the hard ones. House rule worth keeping: you must pick one, and you have to defend your answer. The defending is the game.

Funny & absurd

Would you rather…

  • have hiccups for a whole day every month, or feel like you're about to sneeze — but never sneeze — for an hour every day?
  • speak every language in the world, but only in a whisper — or just your own, extremely loudly?
  • have spaghetti for hair or sweat maple syrup?
  • be chased by one horse-sized duck or a hundred duck-sized horses?
  • always have a tiny pebble in your shoe or one hair forever tickling your face?
  • enter every room by announcing yourself like a royal herald, or leave every room moonwalking?
  • have a personal theme song that plays at random moments, or applause every time you finish a sentence?
  • talk like a pirate forever or sing everything you say?
  • have fingers as long as legs or legs as long as fingers?
  • have every sock you ever wear be slightly damp, or every pillow slightly too warm?
  • have to skip everywhere you go, or bow deeply to everyone you meet?
  • own a phone that's always on 1% but never dies, or one that always rings at full volume in quiet places?

The food edition

Would you rather…

  • give up cheese or give up chocolate?
  • eat only breakfast foods or only dinner foods for a year?
  • have everything you eat be slightly too salty, or slightly too sweet?

  • get free coffee for life or free dessert for life?
  • never eat anything fried again, or never anything baked?
  • eat every meal with chopsticks forever, or only ever with a spoon?
  • have a bottomless snack drawer or a fridge that restocks itself?
  • give up all hot food or all cold food?
  • be loyal to smooth peanut butter or crunchy — forever, no switching?
  • have to cook every meal you eat from now on, or never be allowed to cook again?

Superpowers & magic

Would you rather…

  • teleport, but only to places you've already been — or fly, but only two feet off the ground?
  • talk to animals or speak every human language?
  • be invisible, but only while standing perfectly still — or fly, but only at walking speed?
  • read minds but never be able to turn it off, or see ten minutes into the future but only occasionally?
  • have super strength or super speed?
  • own a remote that pauses time or one that rewinds it?
  • control the weather, but only on weekends — or control every traffic light on your commute?
  • never need sleep or never need food?
  • have a perfect memory, or the power to forget anything you choose?
  • heal small injuries instantly or never get sick again?
  • understand exactly what babies mean, or exactly what pets mean?
  • shrink to pocket-size whenever you like, or grow three metres tall — but only for one minute a day?

  • always know the perfect thing to say, or always know when to stay quiet?
  • be ten minutes early to everything forever, or twenty minutes late to everything forever?
  • have a fridge that's always stocked or a closet that's always full of clean clothes?

Hard mode

Would you rather…

  • always lose at games you care about but win at everything trivial — or the reverse?

Kid & family friendly

Would you rather…

  • swim with dolphins or fly with eagles?
  • have a robot best friend or a talking dog?
  • have snow every day or summer every day?
  • be a superhero nobody knows about, or famous with no powers?
  • have homework that does itself or a bedroom that cleans itself?
  • shrink to the size of a toy for a day, or have your toys come to life for a day?

How to make it a game

For two people, just alternate asking. For a group, read one aloud, count to three, and everyone points at their answer at once — the splits are where the arguments (the good kind) live. For a competitive version, the reader secretly predicts the group's majority answer and scores a point when right. And in a classroom, they're a brilliant warm-up: one question, thirty seconds of debate, surprisingly good practice at giving reasons.

Want the endless, no-reading-required version? Our Would You Rather tool deals original dilemmas one tap at a time and shows how each choice splits. Pair it with Truth or Dare and the phone-only party games list and you've got a whole games night sorted.
