Random Number Generator

Pick a range, tap generate, get a fair random number — 1–100, a dice roll, or any range you like.

?

How to generate a random number

Type a minimum and maximum, then tap Generate for a fair random whole number in that range. In a hurry? Tap a preset — 1–10, 1–100, 1–1000, a dice roll, or a 0/1 coin call. If you type the values the wrong way round, we sort them for you, and both ends of the range are included, so "1 to 100" really can land on 1 or on 100.

Every number in the range has an equal chance, drawn from your browser's built-in random number generator — nothing you enter is stored or sent anywhere, so a giveaway draw stays entirely on your device. The lack of any login or tracking is part of why people trust it for a fair pick.

What people use it for

A random number is one of those tiny tools that turns out to be useful constantly. The most common job is picking a winner: number your entrants — comment 1, comment 2, and so on — set the range to match, and generate to draw a raffle, giveaway, or prize winner that nobody can argue with. Beyond that, people use it to decide who goes first in a game, to pick a random question or page number, for classroom activities and "choose a student" moments, to play guess-the-number, to assign chores or seats, or simply to settle a debate by letting an impartial number have the final say. Set the range to 1–6 to mimic a die, 1–2 for a coin, or 1–20 for tabletop rolls.

Need to pick from a list of names instead of numbers? Try Spin the Wheel or the Team Shuffler. For a straight two-way call, the Coin Flip or Yes or No is even quicker.
