Why tier lists are everywhere

The S-to-D tier chart became the internet's favourite way to argue because it does something a plain ranked list can't: it groups things by how strongly you feel, not just their order. Two items can both be "great" (S tier) without you having to decide which is fractionally better — and the gap between your S tier and your D tier says more than any number. That's why YouTubers and TikTok creators build them on camera: a finished tier list is an instant, screenshot-ready opinion that begs to be shared and disagreed with. The internet's most-ranked topic: everyone eats, nobody agrees, and putting salad in S tier starts fights. Group the dishes by how much you'd actually want them right now, not by what you're "supposed" to like.
